Gay Men Seem at a Greater Risk for Drug Addiction and Alcoholism In line with research, it seems that gay men and girls are at a greater risk of developing drug addiction or alcohol addiction than heterosexuals. Homosexuality is associated with problems such as internalized homophobia, shame, prejudice, discrimination, all fertile ground for the development of drug addiction or alcoholism.
