The internet... It's modified the approach we have a tendency to live since its proliferation within the past decade or two. It had enabled us to try to to things that we tend to never thought of in simply more than a decade ago. All with loud headlines shouting "WATCH IT LIVE NOW!" After hitting the mouse button many times at lightning speed (due to my years of practice on counterstrike) I finally manage to shut the internet browser completely. It had been then time to convey my 6 year recent a nice grilling just like how I interrogated criminals when I was a police officer. "How and why did you are doing what you probably did?" I asked in a "firm and stern" manner, "I used to be simply searching for the most recent LEGO TV show" the seemingly innocent suspect replied.
It had been at that moment then I notice how scary search engines are. My initial suspicion was that he could have simply committed an innocent typo by spelling Leg instead of Lego and proceeded to type in Leg TV and hit the search button, the list of search results then appeared and the screen and on the high of the list reads "Legs Fetish TV, satisfy your leggy needs with live streaming of our hottest leggiest models!!" At that terribly moment I just fell back to my chair and my mind started racing with thoughts the probabilities and dangers not simply my children but all the children in the planet are exposed to.
I then went into analysis mode and did some checking and looking on the remedies to such unwanted exposure on the net. It had been then it dawn onto me that stumbling to a porn website is simply the tip of the iceberg of the items that my very little boy will get into. It seems that the tool that's touted to be the ultimate teacher for college kids for its wide and unlimited data, resources and help is the precise medium which will actually expose children to pornography, cyber-bullying, pedophiles and sexual predators. (I am breaking into cold sweat just by typing the very last sentence.) It still sends shudders down my spine every time I recall that very day after I finally opened my eyes and understand that one thing thus useful can also be therefore dangerous when not applied properly.
