Do folks that are successful in home based businesses share
some common characteristics and, if so, what are the primary
ones?
The dictionary defines successful as:
" having a positive outcome, or
" having obtained one thing desired or meant, or
" having achieved wealth or eminence
When applied to a home business, I assume the definition of the
word successful involves a mix of monetary gain, time
flexibility, and having the ability to decision your own shots (being your
own boss). The order of importance can vary from person to
person.
I've got had the great fortune to be quite successful with
home-based web businesses. No, that's not fully
accurate, I have had success as a result of I've got invested a ton of
sweat equity in my do business from home business activities.
Having spent many years in the corporate world, I'm a firm
believer within the team side of business and thus I naturally
gravitated toward network marketing instead of making an attempt to travel
solo selling merchandise/services and competing with the massive players
like Yahoo, Amazon and the opposite well known names.
Once doing considerable research, I found a terribly well
established and financially solid web-primarily based company to work
with. Using my business expertise within the "offline world" and
developing my internet promoting skills on the fly in an OJT
(aka: on-the-job-training) format, things have gone terribly well and
I recently spent a while trying to spot some of the primary
traits that are common in my most successful team members.
Whether or not you're breeding bird dogs, or race horses, or drafting
faculty soccer players to play in the NFL...it is vital to
develop "markers" that may be terribly helpful in predicting success.
>From my offline, ancient, business expertise I have known
this from the get-go, however for a few reason I was slow to learn
(or, was it re-learn?) that identifying the folks with a high
chance of success is even more vital when developing an
online network promoting business that depends upon teamwork.
Reflecting back on several of the actually successful individuals I've got
worked with in network promoting, I created a list of the many
success factors that emerged after I assessed each person
individually. After compiling the list, 3 factors appeared to
stand out as being the most common success indicators. In no
explicit order, these factors were:
" approaching the business with a long term perspective. It takes a heap of your time to become an "overnight success"
" exhibiting the tenacity of a pit bull
" having the ability to ride the emotional roller coaster (2 improvement and one step back) in the early stages of developing the business
Simply as a result of an individual has these characteristics, it will not
guarantee success and, on the flip facet, an individual is not essentially
doomed to failure simply as a result of she or he will not possess them
all.
