It really is a well proven fact that vegetables are one type of food that should be included in your diet if you want to lose weight, but did you realize that they can also help reduce or eliminate gout pain as well? It's true, vegetables are one type of food that you can include in your gout relief diet to possibly eliminate this painful problem that you are experiencing.
Before you can realize how adding vegetables to your gout relief diet can help, you must understand how and why this form of problem occurs. The issue, for the most part, is in the diet that is maintained on a daily basis. Gout is a common type of arthritis that impacts millions of Americans, and it is caused by the formation of uric acid crystals that develop on and around the major joints within the body. The formation of uric acid crystals takes place when there is an extra amount of uric acid in the body which comes primarily from the different types of foods that are consumed.
Foods are chief producers of purines which basically are what creates uric acid. While purines are generally good for normal body function, too much of them can lead to the development of excess uric acid in the body. Some of the many types of foods that can lead to a gout flare up include red meats, anchovies, sardines, high sodium foods, and others that contain large amounts of sugar or carbohydrates. These types of foods can tip the pH balance of the body to the acidic side, which in turn can lead to the excess buildup of uric acid. A gout relief diet that contains different types of vegetables can be beneficial to your gout relief efforts.
So what kinds of vegetables should your diet include? There are many different types of vegetables that you can include in your diet in order to create better pH balance and reduce uric acid buildup.
Here are some heart beneficial vegetables that you can incorporate in your gout relief diet:
- Lettuce
- Green beans
- Tomatoes
- Cabbage
- Squash
- Pumpkin
- Potatoes
- Parsley
- Bell peppers
A lot of of the vegetables that are listed are also excellent sources of Omega 3 oils that contain anti-inflammatory agents that are recognized to help alleviate painful flare-ups that are frequently experienced with gout flares.
