The Barnes and Nobles first tablet was the nook which was a purely ereader device without a colour screen some users say the screen was the best feature of the original Nook ereader as it made reading in direct sunlight not a problem at all. The new device which was named the Nook Colour which was a lot more of a multifunction device like a laptop. The screen makes viewing photos and surfing the internet a possiblity that wasn't available on the original but dispite the new screen the nook colour is still just as great for reading as the previous tablet.
While there is much competition in the tablet/ereader maket with the market leaders in this area being the kindle 3 and ipad 2 at time of writing this article, This two devices are very differnt with the kindle being a very ereader focused device primarly for reading ebooks and the ipad 2 being a lot more of do everything device that is looking to replace laptops and desktops of many people because if its internet and telephone capabilities.
When it comes to finding ebooks for nook there are a few options available for most tablet users, there is the now very old and un-modern offerings from amazon which are far from good value and a boring old school shop interface, and then there is the apple ebook store called the ibook store, this is much better for tablet users because of the interface but this service is limited because ebooks are not available for all ereader formats.
While the above two featured ebook stores are where the majority of users will go to buy digital copies of novels and books online, they are far from the only oprion available to tablet and nook users, The best free service that the author recommends is one named Scridb, this is a totally free website that anyone can download ebooks from free of charge, while sometimes it is hard to find full ebooks and anything modern the fact that this servce is 100% free makes it a worthwhile addition to anyones online libraries.
The last ebook service for nook users that i recommend is one called Ebooks for Nook, this site is differnt to most i have found in that all i pay is a one off fee of $39.99 and that gets me a lifetime membership and access to the entire online library of around 40,000 ebooks. I estimate using this service and scribd has saved me hundreds on ebooks for my nook when i consider the price from amazon or apple would of been $10-$15 each so i currently recommend these two services to every ereader user i come accross.
