Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 presented - The world's thinnest tablets running Android
Samsung has just announced two new versions of its Android-tablet Galaxy Tab whose specifications in many respects already leaked out before the presentation.
There are two machines with screen sizes of 10.1 and 8.9 inches, and whose resolution is 1280x800 pixels. The thickness of the tablet are located at 8.6 millimeters, and just as competitor Motorola Xoom, they will run Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). They have a dual-core processor running at 1Ghz, WiFi, 4G, a camera of 3 megapixels on the back and a 2 megapixel camera on the front.
8.9 inch will weigh 470 grams while the big brother of 10.1 inches will weigh 595 grams. They are offered with either a 16GB or 32GB of memory and 8.9-tab gets U.S. prices $ 469 and $ 569. The corresponding rates for the 10.1-tab is 499 and $ 599. The larger of the Galaxy tabs goes on sale in the U.S. market on June 8 and 8.9-inch will go on sale sometime in early summer.
