Chicago Author Organizes a Day of Empowerment for Women
Chicago, IL â" May 25, 2011 â" Day for Divas! Red Carpet Event, hosted by the Unstoppable Woman, Erika Gilchrist, will take place in Chicago on Saturday, November 5th from 2:00 p.m. â" 7:00 p.m. at the Grossinger City Autoplex, located at 1530 N. Dayton Street. âHumility is Overratedâ is the event theme, and attendees will feature Research Coordinator Hilary Powell of HARPO Studios. Powell will share her story of tenacity and perseverance of how she landed her coveted position with HARPO Studios and is sure to motivate and inspire all in attendance.
Erika Gilchrist, award winning speaker and acclaimed author, wanted to bring to women an event that would convey her message of empowerment. Being a survivor of abuse, Gilchrist has developed a passion to empower other women to overcome barriers and adversity, so that they may be fearless and build their own paths to success. As a captivating speaker, Gilchrist will give attendees her secrets to asking for and getting what they want.
âItâ™s important to me to provide people with tangible and practical techniques that they implement right away; not in six months, or a year from now, but things can be done right now to begin that process,â says Gilchrist. âI hope this event can help do just that.â
This engaging event will kick off with a wine tasting and end with a cocktail reception, both sponsored by the Vanguard Beverage Company. In addition to the motivating speeches, throughout the day, women will receive red carpet treatment with massages and hand treatments, red carpet photos ops, door prize giveaways, shopping and networking. Loquacious Catering will provide the delicious mid-day lunch. Attendees are sure to walk-away feeling like queens for the day and newly empowered divas.
