Getting frustrated that your dog jumps up on people when you are visiting friends? Are you worried why other people's dogs run to them while your dog runs away? Have you tried dog obedience training? The answer is as simple as that. It is easy, highly effective and can be fun to do if you have a great attitude.

The most basic commands that you'll learn first are usually sit, stay and come. The initial training commands will be the most useful to you and your dog. It would be embarrassing to have you dog run while out for a walk, better to have him behave himself. If you truly work hard with your pet and give him your attention, reassurance, and praise, dog training can be successfully attained in a one or two short months.

When it comes to caring for your dog, there are lots of facilities where you can train your dog. If it seems impossible to teach your dog alone there are a vast number of supportive classes to attend, there are many other dogs present. Not only are you training your dog you are socializing him to which of course is the next step after sit, stay and come. Dogs are sorts of similar to children to some degree, except they have lots of fur, they need to understand what is right and wrong.

Treats work well for obedience training, when the dog does something good it is rewarded. Yelling at your dog is counterproductive, it scares him and you want to maintain a good relationship.

When obedience training your dog, it is important that he have no distractions. It is therefore recommended that you take him to an empty lot or park where he won't be readily distracted. The two of you can then concentrate on his training. Tell your dog in a firm but warm voice to "sit," and then put your hand on his backside and push it lightly down to the ground; once he's seated, you reward him with a pet treat and congratulate him by saying, "good boy!" Repeating this over and over again will make him realize that when you say sit you mean for him to sit and he gets rewarded, soon enough he will know to sit when you tell him to and the treats are no longer necessary.

You will probably need another person to get him to stay.

Make an attempt to make him sit (once he has understood) Have a friend hold them. Give him the stay command as you are walking away from him, and at the same time let him see you hold your hand up (doing this will make him realize that when you hold your hand up in the future you want him to stay as well, not just when you tell him to) after a brief pause your friend can allow your dog to come to you and then you should show affection and praise.
Author Resource:- The simplest strategy to get him to return is have a toy in one hand and a treat within the other, when you find yourself in the home merely walk clear of him, hold out the toy and dog walking employment excitingly name him to you, while he comes over supply him a treat.
